Vertical Farming At Berkeley

VFB's ambition is to establish the first and only, large-scale vertical farm on Berkeley campus. We aim to increase yield and resource efficiency by investigating symbiotic microbe interactions in a hydroponic environment and developing mechanical automation from Arduino controlled water maintenance to labor-free planting/harvesting. We hope to represent our generation's recognition of deep-rooted inefficiencies of today's farming methods and our willingness to work towards a better solution for the future, a feat that will benefit everyone.
