Viam Advising helps communities design systems that work for people. Our team blends human-centered design, systems thinking, and deep housing expertise to help cities, states, and nonprofits solve complex problems — from homelessness response to disaster recovery and long-term community resilience. Founded out of the lessons and creativity that fueled Houston’s nationally recognized homelessness reduction, Viam Advising brings together the same blend of strategy, empathy, and design thinking to strengthen communities across the country. We work alongside local partners to: • Design housing and recovery programs that are human-focused and effective • Strengthen governance and coordination across systems • Build capacity for implementation in resource-limited settings • Translate complexity into clarity, momentum, and measurable outcomes Recent and current partnerships include: • Texas Hill Country Flood Response – Housing recovery program design and implementation • Sedona/Verde Valley, AZ – Homeless services and needs assessment + regional strategic plan development • Tulsa, OK – Advisory support of system response to encampments • Knoxville, TN – CoC governance redesign and implementation coaching • Greater Virginia Peninsula (VA) – Regional homelessness needs and funding analysis • Oklahoma City, OK – Encampment-to-Housing implementation • State of Oregon – Statewide rehousing assistance under the Governor’s Executive Order reduce unsheltered homelessness • HUD TA – Implementation strategy for unsheltered initiatives in Louisville and across Kentucky • NAEH – Speaker and subject matter expert on housing focused street outreach
