Vineyard Montessori School (VMS) is the largest independent, non-profit school on Martha’s Vineyard. Committed to providing an excellent educational foundation for each and every student, VMS offers an equitable and joyful environment where children foster a lifetime love of learning. Our carefully curated Montessori classrooms are designed to stimulate growth and the joy of learning in a warm, accepting environment. With classes of multi-age groupings, we offer a Toddler Program for ages 1.5 - 3 years, Primary Program for 3-6 years, and Elementary and Middle School programs for 6-9 years, 9-12 years, and 13-14 years. VMS is proud to have deep affiliations with statewide, national, and global Montessori organizations as well as with local partners on Martha’s Vineyard. We are a unique community, made up of inspiring educators and leaders who deeply value diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ), all of which are integral parts of the Montessori philosophy. Alongside promoting global citizenship and honoring a diverse range of experiences, we actively seek faculty and families who embrace and practice our Montessori core values of collaboration, respect, compassion, and empathy.
