Vinmetrica

Vinmetrica is a company specializing in products and services for wine analysis, with a focus on simplicity, low cost, and quality. We are developing products in the area of wine testing, targeted at professional and home vintners who need reliable analyses for sulfite (SO2), titratable acidity (TA), malic acid, alcohol by volume, residual sugar and pH. Vinmetrica was founded in December of 2009 by Dr. Richard Sportsman. Dr. Sportsman was Vice President of Reagents and Assays at Molecular Devices Corporation from 2002 to 2008. He has over 25 years experience in life sciences research and development. He has a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Arizona. He’s also been an enthusiastic amateur vintner for 20 years, during which time he finally got tired of trying to use inaccurate, unreliable and/or unwieldy products for wine testing. Vinmetrica thus grew out of his desire to make the vintner’s job easier and more predictable.
