Martin D'Agostino has worked in the area of food microbiology since 1991. Experienced (>25 years) food virologist with an emphasis on meeting the challenges posed by the transmission of enteric viruses in food supply chains - principally Norovirus, Hepatitis A virus and Hepatitis E virus. Author in over 35 publications. Wide-ranging network of academic, industry partners and governmental bodies including the Food Standards Agency, BMPA, FDF, Safefood EU and Public Health England (now UKHSA). Extensive experience in presenting at seminars, conferences and webinars, both in the UK and internationally. Point of contact for the food industry on all issues related to foodborne viruses & SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19). Lead bid writer and coordinator / assistant coordinator on collaborative research projects for major research funders, including the Food Standards Agency, European Framework projects (EFSA) and UK Technology Strategy Board (Innovate UK).
