As a result of Visit Mason City's marketing efforts, Mason City has been named "Best New Midwest Place to Play, Eat and Stay" by Midwest Living and featured as “One of Five Great Drives from Major US Cities” by the NBC Today Show. Other honors bestowed on the community have included being recognized as “One of the World's Best Cities for Architecture Lovers” by Conde' Nast Traveler and featured as “An Architectural Hotbed” by CNN.
