Leerlingen uit het vo-vmbo en mbo (de primaire doelgroep van VOS) moeten gehoord worden. Jongeren op het vmbo en mbo zijn niet de studenten die met protestacties pleiten voor goed onderwijs. Ze dreigen eerder uit beeld te raken. Het verschil tussen de have’s en de have nots wordt groter. Muziekeducatie in het vmbo-mbo is in deze tijd een krachtig middel om met jongeren te werken aan hun stem. De missie van Vocal Statements (VOS) is om middels muziekeducatie de stem van jonge mensen te laten horen die opgroeien in deze tijd.
