Vu Kf Smd

Students' Scientific Association in the Faculty of Communication, Vilnius University (VU KF SMD)- voluntary, non-profit organization which unites all students and scientists of the faculty. The main goal of VU KF SMD is to promote information and communication sciences by organizing events such as open discussions like "Cafe Scientifique" or "Communication in Movies", tutorials for writing yearly papers and final thesis etc. The main event of the association is annual conference, organized since 2009. In this conference, scientists and students not only from Vilnius University openly share their insights from investigations and analyses they made. In 2013, the conference is called "The Challenges of Communication and Information Sciences" and covers issues related to online publishing, communication in social media, knowledge management, political communication and others. It is the first year when the conference could be called international and involves students from Warsaw University, Poland. At the given moment there are around 40 members of VU KF SMD.
