Wakili Connect

Wakili Connect is a Nairobi based start up that enhances access to justice by providing a platform where ordinary citizens through their counsel have an opportunity to delegate briefs across the country in civil and criminal cases thus minimising adjournments and enhancing access to Justice as provided for in Article 50 of the constitution on the right to a Fair hearing and representation by an advocate; Legal Practitioners by providing an avenue for law firms to get lawyers to handle their briefs on short notice, mitigating logistical constraints and ultimately reducing costs for clients and suspects in criminal proceedings and providing subsidized income for advocates thus improving their welfare; and The platform is planned to expand its scope to allow suspects and their families to get an advocate anywhere in the country and in short notice for; recording statements in police stations, negotiation of bail terms, plea taking and hearing of criminal applications in court among others.
