Walinda Lingo is a multimedia research consultancy decoding social, political and cultural developments across Africa and other Most Affected People and Areas (MAPAs). A Brief History: Founded in August 2019 as an ethnographic research consultancy firm, our years were spent in research and development. We engaged with UN processes, foreign governments and civil society organisations across geographies on a range of contemporary issues. From climate change, resource insecurity, Indigenous culture ways to civil uprisings. We even had the opportunity to draft a lobbying and advocacy manual for one of the youngest democracies in the Sahel! But something didn’t feel right. The Change In early 2023 we closed our doors and digital platforms determined to overhaul our business model. Ultimately, we decided we needed to simplify how we shared our work. Telling stories using the most sensory and culturally appropriate methods available. Where Are We Today? Armed with a simplified mission, a pivot towards more creative outputs and a commitment to keep disruptive fact-based research at the fore of our work: we're (finally) ready to grow our team.
