Wandering Wolf Explorers

Wandering Wolf Explorers is the seedling of what we hope to later grow into a self sustaining nature education program and center. It is headed by Amberosity Gott, who is currently less than a year away from obtaining her B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences, with a specialization in Public Outreach, Education, and Interpretation, and a minor in Natural Resources from Oregon State University. Amberosity has previous experience in public education and interpretation through her work at the Bar Harbor Oceanarium and Acadia National Park. She is currently a VOLT trained 4-H leader in the state of Maine. Amberosity has a passion for connecting families, and children to nature. In particular, she feels it is important that the public feels comfortable discussing and working with biologists on many levels. A love for the natural world starts as a child, and that love must be nurtured and encouraged through exploration. Wandering Wolf Explorers programs are a mix of free-choice learning, exploration, experiential/hands-on activities, and student led adventures. All programs are family-oriented and parents are expected to be present at all times. The programs are secular but families are encouraged to continue the discussion and relate what they learn to their own values, curriculum, or religion. Children are encouraged to explore on their own, ask questions, and challenge themselves.
