Washington Mind is an independent Mental Health Charity based in Washington, Tyne and Wear and covering the whole of the City of Sunderland area. Our Mission - To work in partnership with our community to promote recovery and improve mental health and wellbeing in the community. Our Vision - A society that understands and is active in improving mental health and wellbeing and building emotional resilience of people of all ages. Our Services include: • Support for all ages from 11 years and upwards • Talking Therapies • Training Courses • Wellbeing activities such as yoga, soundbath, mindfulness • Social support groups such as crafts, gardening, walking • Peer-led support groups • Volunteering opportunities • We facilitate over 100 groups each month We have a team of specialist trainers available to deliver training to businesses and organisations. We can provide: • A LIFE Worth Living © Suicide Prevention (Training) • MHFA (Mental Health First Aid) courses (One-Day, Two-Day, 3-Yearly Refresher) • Mental Health Awareness (Training) • Emotional Resilience, Investing in YOU (Training) • Building Resilience in the WORKPLACE (Training) • The Stories we Tell – Living Forward with Grief (Training) • Lunch and Learn sessions covering specific mental health topics and workplace wellbeing • Bespoke training packages Washington Mind is an independent local charity with our own Board of Trustees. We raise our own funds and welcome support from individuals, businesses and the public sector. Washington Mind is affiliated with the Mind Federation, the largest Mental Health Charity in England and Wales. Washington Mind welcomes invitations to work with local businesses to discuss our workplace offerings. All training fees are put right back into the vital work we do across the community, meaning businesses can support our local area, as well as invest in your workforce's mental health and wellbeing. We tailor our support to the direct needs of local people.
