In the two watch enthusiasts went their separate ways to do some research about an iconic model, the Omega's famous Speedmaster Moonwatch. They did not come from the watchmaking world, and did not yet know each other - one was a French engineer, bank manager living in Italy, and the other a bioinformatician from Switzerland - but their similar approach naturally led them to collaborate. Out of sheer passion, they came up with the crazy idea of writing the ultimate guide to the Speedmaster. Anthony Marquié and Grégoire Rossier's unconscious new project was to produce an exhaustive, precise and organized work, retracing the minutest details of the production of this watch since its creation in 1957 and never interrupted since. This book, Moonwatch Only, published for the first time in 2014, has changed the course of their careers, and quite possibly their lives too. Furthermore, it became immediately - and still is - a reference for the watch community."This book sets a new standard, not only for books on the Omega Speedmaster, but for watch books in general", wrote FratelloWatches at that time. From that point on, Anthony and Grégoire never stopped working on new projects, first and foremost with the publication of new books, but also and above all with the desire to create new standards and implement new methods in the vintage watch sector, so complicated by nature and so difficult for collectors to grasp. This is precisely with such a spirit that they founded Watchfid in 2020. Aware of the needs of the market, and thanks to this very unique DNA based on a structured background, exceptional databases, efficient analysis methods and a consolidated network, they brought together a group of passionate investors to create an advisory company entirely dedicated to collectors' watch enthusiasts.
