Founded in London in 1968 as “Waterskills Ltd”, the company successfully completed a vast number of projects in the field of Water and Wastewater Treatment in the U.K. in Iraq, as well as in several Middle East and African countries. In 1985, “Water and Power Engineering Design Ltd” was formed as a sister company to undertake the design and marketing work leaving the manufacturing and field services to “Waterskills LTD”. In 1998, following a major restructuring of the Group, the two companies merged to form what is still today called Water & Power Engineering or “WPE” as it is widely recognized in the industry. In 2008, The Group selected Beirut as its regional operating headquarters and has been serving the Region from there. Water & Power Engineering Arabia, and Water & Power Engineering Iraq, were set-up in Saudi Arabia and Iraq respectively, each to serve that particular area exclusively. Today, “WPE” is one of the most versatile companies operating in the region providing Water and Wastewater treatment design, manufacturing, supply, and operation services, including Seawater desalination, Brackish water desalination, Conventional water treatment, Sewage Treatment, Industrial wastewater treatment and Disinfection as well as Power Generation Turn-Key plants including Gen-Sets, Substations, Transformers, Switchgear and Control + Power Panels to clients, in both the private and public sectors. “WPE” also provides many parallel services including, but not limited to, supply of spare parts, chemicals, and any other related product that will ensure the success of your Water + Wastewater Treatment and Power project. In keeping with the ever-progressing demands of our clients, Lump Sum Turn-Key and Design-build services, including BOO and BOT, were added to help set “WPE” apart as one of the few companies in the region that provide complete, engineered solutions to complex Water & Wastewater Treatment & Power challenges. With a long history of successful projects and positive working relationships between owners, suppliers, and subcontractors and within the engineering community we look forward to many opportunities.
