Waterpower Laboratory
Founded in 1917, One of the NTNU’s oldest laboratories at Gløshaugen campus in Norway. The Waterpower laboratory conducts research on hydraulic turbines. It is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities of the Francis turbine (including pump-turbine), Pelton turbine, and other high-quality other rigs used for the fundamental research on fluid structure interactions. Furthermore, researchers and students have access to the largest supercomputer in Norway to carry out heavy simulations of the turbines. The laboratory collaborates internationally with several countries for research and education.
