WAVVES started with a simple idea: let's take all the hard-earned wisdom buried in female haircare, extract the things that really work and give it to men with curls in a straightforward way. After over a decade of friendship and a few months of living together it was an unexpected idea for WAVVES founders Amelia and Tara to bond over, but they had their reasons. Amelia's boyfriend was blessed with long, thick curls that were, frankly, a matted frizzy mess when they started dating. That was when she went down the curly girl method rabbit hole to find out what parts were the most important to reducing frizz and how to pass on that knowledge in the most digestible and least offensive way. Tara's brother was similarly blessed with curls but she had a different problem. As an actor, he cares a lot about them and some of her favourite products were going missing. The common solution was a brand specifically for men with curls - both for the ones who already care and the ones who don't know how to. The range is as small as possible to take the confusion out of haircare. The products are natural and Australian made. And importantly, we make sure our business choices don't cost the planet. We avoided the sickly sweet scents and filler ingredients, skipped all the fad products and distilled the science of haircare into the WAVVES Method.
