WebLegal is an IP boutique focused on particular sectors of intellectual property rights. The firm has been founded in 2006 by the Italian attorney Roberto Manno, and presides several areas of information and communication technology law. WebLegal manages the White List Team (“WLT”), a working group of selected lawyers operating in the European Union and also internationally. The WLT prides itself of the effectiveness of the anti-counterfeiting services provided for the protection of IP rights including, in particular, new plant varieties and the defensive strategies against the illegal multiplication of plants. Roberto Manno serves as panelist for “.eu” and “.it” disputes resolutions. Many of the White List Team members are also fellows in the “.eu” dispute resolution center, the Czech Arbitration Court at the Czech Chamber of Commerce, in Prague. Roberto Manno is author since 2003 of several articles on domain names as well as other Internet law matters (they are available in the “Interlex articles” section) and participated, as both attorney and panelist, in many national / international proceedings. WebLegal is also extremely sensitive to business and marketing aspects of ecommerce and internet business. Indeed, disruptive developments in digital technology are able to stress traditional legal framework, as it happened with regard to music and audiovideo distribution. The need to find a balance between the “service providers” and citizens-end users in the modern Information Society, is the scope of continue activity by policy-makers and competent judicial bodies as the European Court of Justice and Privacy authorities. WebLegal and the White List Team provides primary international breeders with a wide range of services including (i) filing and prosecution (including opposition/nullity actions before the CPVO in Angers, France) of PBRs;(ii) commercial and legal advice on international customs enforcement strategy and services.
