Whatcom Land Trust

Whatcom Land Trust achieves its mission to preserve and protect wildlife habitat, scenic, agricultural and open space lands in Whatcom County for future generations by securing interests in land, promoting land stewardship, and engaging our diverse community. What began in the basement of Dutch Mothers in 1984 in Lynden by a group of local citizens concerned about the impact of development on farmland loss has grown to a nationally-accredited, community-supported voice for land conservation. Working together with diverse community and business partners, we bring to life a shared vision of a healthy, prosperous Whatcom County for generations of people and species. Since our start, Whatcom Land Trust has preserved and protected more than acres of shorelines, park and farm lands, wildlife habitat and forests, including acres in the Lake Whatcom watershed.
