Whitzend

We are not a trendy hot spot nor a glow stick dance club. We’re just an old-fashioned livingroom-like hangout: casual, cozy, safe and supervised, smoke, drug and alcohol-free. We are an eclectic place where kids, ages 10-16, can be dropped off and hang out with friends. We want them to write on our walls and leave their individual mark. We’re like a tree clubhouse without the tree. No, we don’t have wi-fi and probably won’t get it because we want kids to revisit the lost art of socializing with real people in real locations, not virtual ones. They can eat a slice of pizza or a snack from the vending machine, play a few board games or arcade games, dance, bring their musical instruments and perform, bring their Pokemon and Magic cards and play games. If they want to DJ and have equipment, come on down. We want them to kick up their feet and feel at home, comfortable in an eclectic blend of furniture and mismatched decor for up to 24 registered kids per night. Our first event is a talent show and we will eventually do poetry slams, live mic, movie night, battle of the bands, live music, theme events, and other kid-suggested events, etc.
