Whyse Choices

We've heard many a business leader proclaim that their team are their greatest asset. It's an honourable statement but just how many of them can look in the mirror and honestly say that they walk the talk? Too few of them, I would argue. The question might be, what specifically do they do to empower their team members to show up each day to the best of their ability - the best version of themselves? How do they support them, encourage them and challenge them in such a way that the team member loves where they're at and excited by the journey of growth that they're on? Maybe they can see a better future for themselves as their skillset grows or (simply by being the best they can be) the value they bring along with the security and certainty they're building for themselves by investing in their greatest asset - Themselves (or more specifically, their Self-Worth). Robert Kiyosaki famously said that he would say to his team members, as he walked past them in their offices,"Oh. you're still here, are you?". He encouraged them to continually grow, and support others, knowing that he would get fiercely loyal lifetime advocates that performed to exceptionally high levels and he'd attract a multitude of others queueing up to take their position when they moved on. Why? Because they weren't just there to do a job, they were there to grow and develop themselves into something/someone better and it was infectious - those who witnessed it wanted it for themselves too. If you're prepared to commit yourself to the growth of your team in ways like this, then we may be a good fit for each other. Your caring and human-ness are likely the most powerful tools you have in differentiating yourself from everyone else. a genuine desire to empower others that inevitably empower you.
