Wimac - Guyana Chapter Inc

The Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) – Guyana Chapter Inc, is a nonprofit Chaptering organization dedicated to creating an enabling environment for women in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors, and to provide the requisite platform to recognise women in the industry, promote the recruitment, retention and sustained employment of women in the maritime, trading and logistics sectors. WiMAC – Guyana Chapter Inc. advocates for and actively work to create equal opportunities for women in the maritime sector by fostering an environment that supports capacity building and training, increased visibility, and recognition of the contribution of women as key industry stakeholders. Women in Maritime Association Caribbean (WiMAC) – Guyana Chapter Inc. promotes gender equality and the empowerment of women through different initiatives based on training, mentorship and Chaptering opportunities, focusses on creating policies that ensure equity, safe and decent working conditions for all who work in these sectors and launched initiatives to close the existing gaps and remove impediments to integrating women into the sector. WiMAC – Guyana Chapter Inc. has in its membership, women of varying diversity in age, culture, ethnicity, religion, and education.
