Wine And Cheese Fest

The idea for a Wine and Cheese Festival in Melbourne, and all things good and tasty was born back in 2014 by a couple of event organisers who thought there must be a better way to promote boutique and artisan producers in a setting more fun than the local Farmers Markets (that we DO love and support), and less formal than the expensive wine tasting up-market events. The idea was to expose and promote the best local producers we already knew, and to include the remotest and smallest of wine makers and cheese producers that may not even have a cellar door or a shop in their area, but do have the tastiest cheeses and most unique wines that we would have loved to buy if only we could have a chance of trying them. So, to cut the driving of thousands of kilometres around the country trying them all, we decided to bring them all together under one roof for us all to enjoy. It was not the easiest of ventures to create and bring exhibitors from all parts of Victoria (and beyond), but withy time it became an annual premier event that is marked in every Melbournian foodie’s calendar. This success is largely due to continuously supporting local Wine & Cheese Makers, and local producers of quality, boutique products. This distinctive mutual relationship of providing ‘local makers’ with an avenue to directly sell to their target consumer, has in return established a loyal base of vendors and patrons who continue to support us on our positively charged journey. Beside the entertaining sentiment of our festivals, we do have educational hints for those that are interested to learn some sommelier and cheese making skills through our free Masterclasses presented by the professionals themselves.
