Winnica Jania

Jania Vineyard is a small family winery located next to the village of Krzyżowice, in the Opole region, in the vicinity of the Odra and Nysa Rivers. The unique microclimate and loamy and sandy soil, in one of the warmest regions in Poland, allows us to create unique wines. You can get to the vineyard easily by national road 94 and the A4 highway or by rail. The plan for this place was created in 2013. Then the owners started experimenting with grapevines. At the beginning in a small backyard garden, from year to year, a casual hobby began to turn into a real passion for the vine and the wine. The leading grape varieties are Solaris and Johanniter, as well as Pinot Noir and Cabernet Cortis. The current acreage covers less then 2 hectares of vines. The vineyard is run by a married couple: Alicja Jania – MSc in Economics and Mateusz Jania – civil engineer. In 2017, Mateusz additionally graduated from the University of Wroclaw, Environmental and Life Sciences. He supplemented his major with the technology of winemaking. The owners share their knowledge openly and help to establish a small backyard vineyard. They organize various types of workshops, among other things, cutting and carrying vine. The offer also includes individual and group wine tasting sessions.
