Athens area dentists Dr. Phillip Durden, Dr. Brandon Whitworth, Dr. Chase Wootton & the Winterville Dental Team provide family and cosmetic dental services for patients throughout the Athens-Clarke area, including Oglethorpe, Madison and Oconee counties. Originally from Athens, Dr. Phillip Durden launched Winterville Dental in 1989. He has achieved Mastership with the Academy of General Dentistry, a five-year education continuum in all phases of general dentistry. Dr. Durden has a special interest in TMJ disorders and oral management of sleep apnea. Dr. Brandon Whitworth grew up in the Athens area. He earned his B.S. in Biology at Samford University and completed his dental degree at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta in 2012. His continuing education includes advanced training in cosmetic and reconstructive dentistry and Invisalign® clear orthodontics. Dr. Chase Wootton received his B.S. in Biology from Utah Valley University in 2010. He achieved his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree at Midwestern University Arizona in 2015. Following dental school, Dr. Wootton served as an U.S. Army dentist for over 5 years. He completed a 12-month Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program (AEGD) in 2016, and continues his military service today with the U.S. Army Reserves.
