Wits Mining Institute

The Wits Mining Institute (WMI) was established to inform the emergence of a 21st Century model of mining that is both sustainable and competitive. Our primary focus at the WMI is the production of research of the highest quality to address large multi-disciplinary and complex questions. This will be achieved through five research units which draw on the experience of individuals with decades of mining experience.
