Wizarts Foundation

Wizarts Foundation is a not for profit organization that has existed since 2013 reaching out to communities through communications for development and behaviour change. We work to improve livelihoods, impart knowledge and awareness of the environment in the social, economic, political and educational areas and we syndicate this information using multi-media approaches and Community engagement programs. The foundation primarily conducts its work through grants from development partners with similar goals, and that goal is empowering ordinary Ugandans at the grass roots to drive positive change in the social, political, and economic condition of Uganda. Communication is a vital tool in shaping people’s attitudes, in opening people’s minds, in getting people's voices heard, in influencing people’s behaviour, and in facilitating the exchange of ideas and that is why we use communication to empower communities. We work with a network of more than 100 radio stations and 5 television stations across Uganda, produce our content in various local languages; and we work in multimedia formats to reach out to as wide an audience as we can. We know the power of media as a tool for influencing change and so we seek to transform the use and understanding of traditional and new media with an aim of impacting lives and the society positively. The Organisation operates under five thematic areas of Governance, Democracy and Accountability, Health, Women and Girls, Climate Change and the Environment and Agriculture.
