Woiner Foundation
The Woiner Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer-run organization based in Pittsburgh, Pa. Its mission is to fight melanoma and pancreatic cancer by increasing awareness, supporting patients, survivors and families and fundraising for research. The foundation was established in 2013 by Jessica and Ric Fera and Rita Woiner. Its largest annual fundraiser is the 3-2-1 Ride, a cycling event held on the city's North Shore. The event raised more than in its first five years. The foundation supports the work of Dr. A. James Moser and the Pancreatic Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, along with Dr. John Kirkwood and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center's Melanoma and Skin Cancer Program. The Woiner Foundation is recognized as a Bronze Participant by GuideStar Exchange, a leading symbol of transparency and accountability provided by GuideStar USA, Inc, the premier source of nonprofit information.
