Mentoring—A WAY OF LIFE Welcome to World Changer Society. You have come to WCS because you are interested in mentoring, and the development of young people exiting the child welfare system. Your interest is an important base, and now you need to combine it with some knowledge and understanding of our organization, its goals and our youth. The young people in your care, with their diverse needs and ambitions, will look to you for guidance. You may not always notice it, but you will be a catalyst for change that may well affect the future of your youth in ways you can’t imagine. As a Mentor working with young people, you need to be aware that their wants and needs will change. Keep abreast of what is likely to influence their development. This knowledge will play a key role in how your youth receive you and what type of influence you will ultimately have. You can make a positive difference in the lives of the young people with whom you work.
