World Vision Georgia

World Vision International, one of the world’s largest NGOs, has current programs and operations in more then 100 countries. It is an international relief, development and advocacy NGO dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. World Vision opened its office in Tbilisi in 1996 in response to the country's dire need for economic assistance and intervention in the lives of Georgia's poor and vulnerable. All of World Vision Georgia's projects are built around two core competencies: children and youth, and poverty reduction. They build local capacity, contribute to the development of local and national policies, and are community-based and sustainable. Since 2008, World Vision’s Tbilisi office has been supplemented by the opening of site offices in Telavi, Kutaisi and Akhaltsikhe thus ensuring coverage of most of the regions of Georgia. World Vision is one of the few international organizations that have a strong representation and programming in Abkhazia, breakaway region of Georgia.
