The supermarket wine aisle can be confusing place, even for experts, which is why we set up Wotwine, an independent supermarket wine rating service, founded, financed and managed by wine enthusiasts. We came together to help demystify and improve the quality and value of supermarket wine, to ensure that customers get great value for money in the wine aisle or online. Our team includes Masters of Wine, the top qualification in the wine industry, sommeliers, wine producers, collectors and simply enthusiasts who share our passion for wine. We provide comprehensive, authoritative and independent advice on supermarket wine so that consumers can have confidence that they are getting reliable quality and, above all, great value when they buy supermarket wines. We run independent tasting panels, which aim to taste at least 90% of the roughly wines on the supermarket shelves at any time, and then publish those reviews via our app and website. We also provide content and information to newspapers, magazines and other websites to help inform consumers, as well as giving frank, impartial advice to retailers and producers. Wotwine runs a website and app, giving access to all our current reviews. We also provide content, whether articles, blogs or “Best Buy” tables, for newspapers, magazines and other websites We work with retailers through our accreditation schemes and annual Wotwine Supermarket Wine Awards. We provide data and reports on their comparative ranges and consumer preferences to help them improve their ranges and highlight those products which we believe offer best value.
