Writing For A Cause

Writing for a Cause is my personal nonprofit that I started in the summer of my 8th grade year in response to the challenges faced by families and students in India during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hearing stories of families struggling to survive, students unable to adapt to virtual education, and even my own grandparents witnessing the hardships of neighboring children unable to afford devices for online schooling broke my heart. For a lot of these children in impoverished regions, getting a strong education is their only path towards a brighter future for themselves and their families. Because of this, I made it my mission to try and help fund the education of as many kids as possible in the midst of this crisis. To do so, I tapped into one of my greatest passions and joys: writing. I began by conducting writing workshops and events for kids here in the US, and with the proceeds I raised, I could directly send aid back to India. As the sole founder and tutor, I have personally handled all aspects of this nonprofit, from gathering students to spreading awareness to personally teaching and leading workshops and seminars in all aspects of writing and reading. Through these efforts, I have made lifelong connections and friends, and I truly feel that I have made a positive impact, both by sharing my knowledge with other kids in my community and because of where the money raised is going. Over time, my goals have also evolved, and now I work not only to uplift children without adequate education abroad but also in my local city and community. Writing for a Cause has has a profound impact on me and the people I serve. I truly am dedicated and fully committed to this cause, and I look forward to what Writing for a Cause can yet offer.
