Xinyu University

Xinyu University is a full-time undergraduate institution located in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province. It was one of the first provincial universities in Jiangxi to transform from a traditional college to an applied technology-oriented institution. The university has been selected as the pilot institution for the integration of production, education, and research, as well as a comprehensive reform project for industrial-academic cooperation by the Ministry of Education. It has also been selected as the pilot institution for the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program and the member unit of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Innovation Alliance. The university was founded in 1985 as Xinyu Vocational College. In 1987, it merged with the Xinyu Branch of Jiangxi Radio and Television University and the Xinyu Vocational and Technical College of Jiangxi Normal University. In 1992, Xinyu Vocational College was renamed Xinyu Higher Vocational and Technical College. In 2002, Xinyu Normal School and Xinyu Health School were merged into the college, and on March 18, 2010, it was officially upgraded to Xinyu University. As of September 2018, the university covers an area of more than acres, with a building area of square meters. The total value of teaching and research equipment is nearly 130 million yuan. It has 162 on-campus laboratories, 163 off-campus practice and training bases, and a library with a collection of more than 1.6 million books and 27 databases. The university has over 900 faculty and staff members, including nearly 600 full-time teachers, and more than full-time students (including nearly 200 international students) enrolled in 30 undergraduate programs and 28 vocational programs offered by its 16 colleges.
