XtLearn is a platform for gathering and organising educational resources into visually engaging collections which can be shared easily on different platforms. It sits in the space between resources (whether sourced externally on the web or created locally by teachers) and wherever interaction takes place with students (VLEt, classroom, web-site, social media, or simply via e-mail). Xtlearn enables teachers to gather resources together to: • Make beautiful collections that engage students: o Collections can contain resources gathered from anywhere on the web or from teachers’ own files; our new content creation editor enables teachers to make their own media-rich resources easily and professionally; o They can be presented in any learning environment (including VLE, web-site, brochures/newsletters, FaceBook etc.) o Collections can be created, edited and updated on the fly without needing to be re-published to these different places each time. • Enhance the capability and versatility of staff: o Because it's easy to use, all teachers - whether IT whizzes or not - can produce exciting, engaging and relevant materials; o Teachers can produce personal materials for individual students. This means that they can encourage talented class members to learn more, but also ensure that other students are supported with materials (and presentation formats) that suit them. • Identify, disseminate and embed good practice; o Teachers can easily classify, pool and share collections across departments for access by colleagues and/or by staff at partner organisations; • Expand the reach and appeal of activities to parents and other stakeholders (such as governors, employers etc.) by showcasing taster collections from courses simultaneously on web-sites, and/or in any other form of electronic communication you maintain with them; • Meet and exceed external inspection requirements to use technology to enhance student learning opportunities.
