Yaamarra & Yarral

Yaamarra & Yarral -"sheaf & stone". In our Gamilaraay language "yaamarra" is a sheaf of native grain, and "yarral" is stone. We bring the two together to produce stone-milled native grain flour. We are a 100% Gamilaraay owned and led social enterprise dedicated to reawakening the Gamilaraay people's native grain foodways; and dedicated to increasing First Nations participation in, benefit from, and leadership of the broader food and agriculture industry. Our first step on our intergenerational journey is to begin processing our native grains, alongside other ancient and contemporary grains, by using a handcrafted stone mill to produce authentic, nutrient dense, stone-milled flour.
