The Estate is located in the West Berkshire Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and comprises approximately acres. Farming has been at the heart of the Estate since it was purchased in 1925 and acres are farmed in hand, with the majority down to arable production. There are a further 2,500 acres of commercial forestry and over 300 acres of Christmas tree plantation producing over Christmas trees into the wholesale market and supplying the Estates own retail offering. The balance of the portfolio is made up through let farms and grazing licences. There are a broad range of properties on the Estate with 176 houses, two commercial centres with over 40 individual businesses based and working in the Estate including two award winning pubs/hotel businesses and the Estate runs the thriving village stores and post office. Shooting and stalking continue to play an important role in the day to day operations of the Estate.
