Yazan Beirut

YAZAN is a non-for-profit cultural association and theatre company based in Beirut directed by Caroline Hatem. It was founded in 2018 by Walid Abdelnour, Kinda Hassan and Caroline Hatem. YAZAN is dedicated to : Production and curating : Theatre performances, films, multimedia installations, music concerts… Pedagogy : The YAZAN Professional Artistic Training (YPAT) is a pedagogic program that designs intensive hands-on workshops with internationally renowned professionals. Mostly free of charge, upon selection. Touring within Lebanon : The Network for Cultural Outreach (NCO) aims at decentralizing performing arts in Lebanon while providing work and growth opportunities to artists throughout the year, while putting Lebanese towns and villages on the cultural touristic map. MISSION Our goal in the medium and long term is to professionalize the sector and to create competent artistic and technical teams at the regional level, while developing diverse audiences and partnerships throughout the country. VISION We believe that culture contributes to the touristic and socio-economic growth of a country, while bringing recognition to artistic endeavours that deserve to be internationally renowned.
