YCT is an accredited children and young people's counselling and therapeutic support charity working with 5-25 year olds to overcome barriers and trauma faced in their lives. We provide free, independent counselling sessions adapted to individual children and young people’s needs, enabling them to feel positive about their futures, make constructive choices, improve their life chances, increase self-esteem and develop skills to navigate often chaotic lives. We work with clients across issues including self-harm, domestic / sexual abuse, bereavement, addictions, family relationships, depression, anxiety and more. We currently offer counselling at central community locations, within 37 schools, colleges and alternative education settings, and virtually through secure online platforms in Essex, Hertfordshire and North London. YCT is committed to improving the wider well-being service provided to children and young people. We work in partnership with a range of organisations to design, develop and deliver new services, programmes and training to enable better emotional health and well-being whilst reducing the likelihood for clients to seek for formal counselling in future. We robustly measure our outcomes and impact, consequently knowing how effective our service is at supporting a high number of children and young people. YCT offers bespoke training, consultancy, supervision and counselling to professionals, supporting and developing the workforce responsible for children and young people. YCT is an innovative, forward thinking charity which still retains its warmth and adaptability.
