YES101 has dominated the radio industry for over 2 decades by playing only the hits from a variety of genres and reinventing ourselves with creative promotions and events. Over the years, YES101 has organized over-the-top, out-of-the-box events such as the 9 days of the 90's that concludes with the 90's party, YES We Are Sri Lankan Campaign at the CR & FC grounds that includes screenings of the T-20 & the coveted World Cups and The YES Radio Superstar. To date, YES101 (previously known as 89.5) holds the record for the longest radio show in the Sri Lankan radio broadcasting history, going on air for 89 and half hours. In 2012, we made history yet again by being the only radio station in Sri Lanka to go LIVE from 5 cities in one day from 6 am to 9 pm covering major cities: Jaffna, Kandy, Galle, Negombo and Colombo. We have also been the pioneer in bringing down top international artists such as Shaggy, Michael Learns To Rock (MLTR), Vengaboys, Air Supply and Michael Bolton. Breaking the norm in the radio industry, YES101 has done live broadcasts from many locations from Colombo to Galle to Kandy for over 10 consecutive years.
