Ymca Newcastle

YMCA Newcastle is the oldest independent youth charity in Newcastle. We believe that every young person and all members of our community should be able to develop their full potential in body, mind and character. We are an independent charity that has been working to support Newcastle's young people for almost 170 years. We do this by providing young people with the opportunity, resources and support to develop into freethinking, responsible and economically independent adults. We are part of the World Federation of YMCA's, making us part of the largest and oldest youth organisation in the World. Last year we supported 2,465 young people across Newcastle by empowering them to improve their heath, fitness and well-being, access training, education and employment, provide crisis support and so much more. We believe in sustainability. This is why we have developed 2 social enterprises, Walker Park Cafe & Centre and Urban Mushrooms, that will fund our work with young people. Our social enterprises provide employment and training opportunities to the young people we work with, helping us to fulfil our charitable objectives. We are dedicated to providing unconditional support to the young people of Newcastle and beyond.
