York Steiner School has been nurturing and inspiring children for more than forty years and is one of 1100 Waldorf Steiner schools worldwide. Our students go on to achieve wonderful things in business, science and academia - as well as the creative industries - because we focus on exciting lessons that challenge our children and give them a love of learning, for life. Your child can join us from birth at Gentle Beginnings sessions before moving on to our Parent and Child group where storytelling and singing are the backdrop to our learning. At 3 they are ready to join one of our Kindergarten classes where we focus on practical hands-on fun, learning literacy and numeracy skills through songs, rhymes and movement games while developing self-confidence and a love of nature in our allotments and gardens. At 6 it’s time to join the Main School where all the core subjects are delivered by expert teaching staff and a team of specialists - capturing imaginations to ensure the children are always engaged and eager to learn. Classes are kept small to ensure each child can flourish as an individual.
