The Young Generation was created in Sweden in the 1994 by Jan Runermark, president of ABB Atom at the time (today Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB). He was concerned with preserving the know-how of retiring nuclear-energy pioneers and the need to retain this knowledge among young professionals. By gathering the industry he started this initative called Young Generation.
