Your Pontypridd Bid

The Your Pontypridd Business Improvement District company was established in 2016 following a successful ballot. Your Pontypridd is in the early stages of it's second term following a successful ballot result in February 2021. The BID is a business led organisation, focusing on four main themes: A Safer Pontypridd - Investing in schemes such as Pubwatch, Shopwatch and RadioNet to report crime and encourage communication between BID members, regular meetings with local representatives and local authorities to discuss crime and anti-social behaviour, partnership work with South Wales Police through meetings and engagement events, training for members and providing crime prevention products to the general public. A more accessible and attractive Pontypridd - working with the local authority to develop parking offers, reviewing signage to attract tourists and encourage visitors to the town centre, developing maps and tourist information information, work with the LA to maintain high standards in street cleaning, highway maintenance, rapid response, working with landlords to identify potential tenants to fill vacant properties, encouraging a cafe culture, and look to add colour to neglected streets. A Better Promoted Pontypridd - discount scheme for workers and the general public to encourage people to shop local, working with key partners to deliver and promote a calendar of events, invest and build on current Christmas marketing activities and campaigns, reach out to local people via initiatives to shop local including discounts, loyalty schemes and competitions, attract the modern consumer via regular social media and digital advertising, and regular video campaigns to capture the progress of the town.
