At Your True North Acupuncture we are committed to using this tried and tested system of complementary medicine to benefit the health and wellbeing of our patients. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health depends on the body’s energy moving smoothly. The acupuncturist uses fine needles to work with this energy. The aim is to stimulate the body’s own healing response and restore natural balance by focussing on all aspects of wellbeing: physical, mental and emotional. We practice the Five Element style of traditional acupuncture in which each treatment is tailored, taking into account the individual needs of the patient. Acupuncture is suitable for all ages, including babies and children. It can also be used alongside conventional medicine. Acupuncture is widely considered to help with specific illnesses and symptoms: gastrointestinal; gynaecological; musculoskeletal; emotional and psychological; anxiety, stress and depression; headaches; back pain. Many women choose to have acupuncture throughout pregnancy and childbirth. In addition, it is increasingly used by couples dealing with problems of infertility or to support IVF treatment. We are members of The British Acupuncture Council and hold full public and professional liability insurance.
