Youthhansa

Getting to know each other, exchanging ideas, networking. These are central elements in the Union of Cities THE HANSA. Young residents from Hanseatic cities also benefit from this! youthHansa - the youth organisation of the Union of Cities - has been in existence since 1998. Our aim is to make young people aware of the Hanseatic heritage and to facilitate youth encounters based on the value-binding umbrella of the Hanseatic League. For this purpose, young people between 15 and 26 years of age are regularly sent as official delegates of their city to the International Hanseatic Day. There we can expect our own programme, including participation in official delegates' meetings. The basis for the work of youthHansa is laid out in the statutes, which also regulate all important organisational processes. The official language is English. Beyond the Hanseatic Days, we work on numerous projects that emphasise the modern Hanseatic idea and thus make an important contribution to international understanding. In regional youth Hanseatic groups, young people experience the Hanseatic history of their own city and region. We work for the sustainability of the networks and bring in new ideas, true to the motto: The youthHansa is THE HANSA of tomorrow!
