Currently, elderly people with dementia and their caregivers often find it difficult to get suitable and attractive cognitive training products in the market. The venture aims to provide a series of customer-driven products to meet the unique needs of the elderly with dementia in the Asian communities and to facilitate effective cognitive training. With the advice from an occupational therapist, a registered nurse and a social worker, three prototype designs of game-based cognitive training products have been created. Combining elements of cognitive training and high relevancy to local topics, the product/game design promotes fun cognitive training and foster social engagement. This project is supported by the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Fund and The Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong.
