Zimura

The Zimbabwe Music Rights Association (ZIMURA) is an association of Composers and Publishers of music established to protect certain rights of author members granted to them under the Copyright Law of Zimbabwe. It was incorporated in terms of Section 22 of the Companies Act (CAP190). ZIMURA was registered by the Registrar of Companies on 30th of March 1982. As a collective administrator of copyright, ZIMURA has a membership of more than 2850 rights holders and over 150 works have been registered for protection. ZIMURA is limited by guarantee, has no share capital, is Non Profit Making and pays no dividends. The Association’s policy and administration are controlled by a council of eight Board Members elected by registered members at Annual General Meetings.
