Aamir Ahmad is one of the UK's most respected entrepreneurs. Ahmad sold Dwell, his 30-strong chain of UK-wide contemporary furniture stores, in early 2013 a decade after he co-founded the business with Sean Galligan now his partner in Zumbura. Opening the restaurant looks set to fulfil a dream by Ahmad who says he wants to provide the kind of food I ate when I was growing up, but within a restaurant setting. Delving deep into the family archives, the menu has been created using recipes that his family have been cooking at home for generations.
