Zunde Group

Transforming smallerholder farmers into sustainable agribusiness. Zunde is a Shona word which refers to a traditional granary, it is aligned to a food security system order which was established by the Rozvi empire, the founders of Great Zimbabwe. Zunde also refers to a collective effort by communities in achieving collective goals, in traditional communities the collective effort was towards achieving food security. Zunde Group is a platform to mobilize resources, eradicate hunger and achieve food security on the continent through an integrated approach. Africa is rich with resources and one key resource the continent has is agriculture. Agriculture is a critical component in the GDP of many African countries and yet only 16% of the Agribusiness economy is traded amongst African countries. We as the Zunde Group would like to play a key role in increasing these margins and insuring that businesses in the agricultural sector see the African continent as a target market. The Zunde Group has four major pillars of work which are the facilitation of trade and investments in agribusiness in Africa, providing accurate information to African stakeholders in the agricultural sector, linking all the stakeholders in the entire agribusiness value chain as well as to create platforms for local companies to expand their markets.
