Zur Schanz
ZUR SCHANZ ist ein geschichtsträchtiger Ort im Tiroler Unterland Dort wo das Kaisergebirge mit seinen steilen Kalkwänden und der Inn sich am nächsten sind, ließ Kaiser Maximilian im 17. Jahrhundert eine Befestigungsanlage errichten. Es entstand ein Bollwerk gegen das Passauer Kriegsvolk, das für seine Raubzüge gefürchtet war. Die Festung verfiel im Laufe der Zeit. Übrig blieb laut Überlieferung ein Wachhäusl mit einer Schenke für die Soldaten.
