Westerham Brewery
REVIVING A RICH BREWING HERITAGE Established in 2004 the Westerham Brewery Company is proud to bring brewing back to the historic town of Westerham. With a rich brewing heritage, Westerham can once again be proud of locally brewed, top quality craft beers. Producing exceptional craft beer for the local market, we support the initiative to reduce food miles in the supply chain. Many ‘national brands’ are transported long distances and suffer from poor storage and handling. Westerham Brewery Company has revived many of the much-loved flavours of the old Black Eagle Brewery, which closed in 1965 following the catastrophic consolidation by the ‘Big Brewers’ in the 1950’s and 1960's. WATER The local water, which percolates through the Lower Greensand Ridge to the north of Westerham, is excellent for brewing pale bitter beers for which Westerham was once famous. The Vale of Holmesdale has over the years supported many breweries on account of the water including at one time two breweries in Westerham, the Swan and the Black Eagle. We have drilled down our own borehole 90m into the Hythe beds of the Lower Greensand. MALT We use only the finest English winter malting barley. Our malts are supplied by Crisp Malting of Fakenham in Norfolk and our coloured malts are produced by Simpsons Malt. Our beers contain up to seven different malts to produce a wide range of beer styles and colours. HOPS We are mad about hops, specifically Kent hops. Why be a small brewery in Kent and not use the wonderful hops grown by our valiant hop growers. We have developed a particularly close working relationship with Ian Strang who farms the Scotney Castle Estate in Lamberhurst and the Finchcocks’ hop gardens in Goudhurst. 80% of the hops we use are grown in Kent and we use 9 different Kent hops in the Spirit of Kent. Our suppliers are Lupofresh (Finchcocks’ and Scotney), English Hops (C&R Edmed) and Charles Faram (Non Kent hops), Steiner Hops (USA and European Hops) and Yakima Chief (USA).

The Fresh Standard Brew Co
Established in 2020 as a new small batch, big love beer project by husband and wife Richard and Charlotte Taylor. We aim to create distinct, hoppy ales, inspired by the Stroud valleys and the places where we drink them. Phipps Nbc
Traditional and new ales brewed on a British built kit in a restored Victorian brewhouse, the perfect mix of heritage and modernity. Phipps NBC can supply pins and firkins of real ale, as well as Phipps spirits, produced on site, to trade customers in and around Northamptonshire with deliveries 4 days a week Phipps as a company has a long and winding story that starts in a small South Northants market town in 1801. Its move to the county town of Northampton in 1817 began the steady expansion of the business until it became the major brewer in the South East Midlands. At its height the pub estate stretched from Leicester in the north. Peterborough in the east, Oxford in the south and Warwick in the west. Under the stewardship of the Phipps family for over 150 years, the company ethos was to produce only the best and most distinctive brews. Phipps was one of the regional giants of British brewing. In 2004 the management of the old Phipps pub chain started making plans to rebrew the legendary IPA which had been the company’s flagship beer until 1972. Many of the old Phipps brewers gave their time and expertise to the recreation of first the IPA and then the full range of heritage ales. In 2014 the last surviving part of the Phipps brewing empire became available; The Albion Brewery where first Ratcliffe then Phipps Stouts were brewed from 1884 until 1919. Phipps Northampton Brewery Co moved back to the restored brewery as the Phipps family rejoined the business. A brewery tap bar was added in 2015 and Gin production was started up again to compliment the noted ales & stout. Today the company is once more a living part of the area’s commercial and cultural life; Phipps has come full circle.

Ripe Cider
We make low intervention, natural cider in Cornwall following exactly the same principles as natural wine. It's just apples and naturally occurring yeast and bacteria, hand picked, hand washed and fermented in ex wine barrels with no added sulphites. Cameron was formerly Head Brewer at Brixton Brewery. In 2019 we left London to learn about organic farming and converted to cider making after discovering how orchards support soil health, biodiversity, carbon sequestration and wildlife. We realised we could bring together Cameron’s brewing experience, with the desire to work with the seasons, the land, with a single raw ingredient and very little energy input. Traditional orchards help mitigate climate change.why? Orchards are composed of trees, grasses and other plants which not only provide an array of habitats for wildlife but also absorb co2 through the process of photosynthesis. This co2 is stored both above ground in the plant and dissipates through the root system into the soil where it is stored as carbon. Traditional orchards enhance soil carbon sequestration as apple trees can produce fruit for up to 100 years (sometimes longer) with no requirement to be sprayed with pesticides, fertilisers or herbicides or to be ploughed or tilled. This means that nothing disturbs the carbon cycle or releases carbon back into the atmosphere. So many reasons to drink more natural cider;)

Four Priests Brewery Ltd
I'm Andy and along with Elliott and Sarah we run a small, family owned commercial brewery in Cheshire, UK We built the brewery mostly from salvaged and repurposed stuff, filmed weekly episodes on YouTube and we continue to share what happens each week with our subscribers. We're part time brewers, and Monday to Friday (and sometimes more) I work for global electronic components distributor @digikey. You might catch me vlogging in Minnesota, Munich or Middlewich! Our brewery was created in the spirit of sharing - knowledge, recipes, support and friendships. We won't make millions, and that's OK. We do it for the love of great beer. Enjoy the journey with us, and if you like this sort of thing a few more subscribers would be fantastic. Updates weekly and sometimes more often. Cheers!
